WAR has some bugs, Destro overpopulation is visible, but if you play on a high-population servers, it's usually not that bad.

World PvP has too little to offer. Barely any exp, gold or items for either defenders or attackers. First ones don't get a squat after repelling an attack, and the others, well... Have a small chance of getting something.

RvR gear is a bit worse than PvE gear pre-30-40.

And a lot of players are upset about how sugarish Order characters look. No idea, why, because in Warhammer almost every race is violent and angry, except for gnomes. They are just too busy eating to care about war. And I would NEVER play a High Elf for more than 5 levels. Even elves from Lord of the Ring look more... manly. You can barely tell if one is male or a female.

Which is strange, because even WH/WH40 miniatures look much, much better.

That's the most biased opinion ever made (the thing in bold).

Well PvP is fun un Warhammer, but the PvE lacks so much it's crazy, but it'll come soon i bet

Care to elaborate?

Unless you do think they make a lot of games...

Posted my DoK in the screenshot thread as well! <3 my Anni.

Got directed to the Mythic site for Scenario help as well. It boils down to that comic with the female RunePriest: Kill the Guy with the Thing.

I think I'll Kill the Guy with the Thing and Try Not to Die to Fire.

So basically there are still quite a few bugs, PvE with little content, and decent PvP.

Is it really worth it right now, or should I wait a few months before buying it?

Try to find a trial if you can. If not, look a bit more around, then decide. As is the game's pretty fun from the get-go (join PvP scenarios as soon as you create your character), so that's a start in the right direction.

Most games are going to have a few kinks at release, especially moreso with MMO's due to the huge amount of content. But Mythic has done a better job than most. From my perspective, it's definitely worth a shot.

Depends what you're after arkantos time commitment wise.

In my opinion if you're looking to play it pretty heavily then wait a month or two, if you're only playing casually then may as well start now as most of the bugs are pretty unnoticeable, i personally havent come across/realised i've come across any. So if my experience is anything to go by you won't come across anything at all gamebreaking, and things'll only get better which is always a bonus.

This game is bad.

I bought it for PvP, and the PvP is terrible.

Guild Wars is better, which is so sad.

The major problem I've seen is just the clash in playstyles between people.
You have people who tell everyone to get to T4 as fast as possible. This generally requires mostly pve questing rather than practicing pvp, which requires entirely different tactics.

Then you have people who love the RvR and scenarios and are trying to keep their renown as close to their rank as possible as they progress. They're taking time to learn how best to play their main against other players.

Then there are people who want to see what each different profession has to offer. They aren't leveling very quickly, but they're getting an understanding of what each class needs from a team in order to really shine.

And all these playstyles have to work together, but don't quite know how. All tiers are important, because they all have to work together. Unfortunately, I still see people who have only ever played one class basing their assumptions of the role of other classes on a one-word descriptor they saw on the char gen screen.

But another thing that would really help is if everyone had their realm's channel turned on so they could see when calls go out, because even if you aren't the right level to do any good, remember you're going up against other players, and if they see they are outnumbered, sometimes they'll back down before they realize you brought a rank 8 to the keep. Point is just show up.

PvP is very disorganized, because of misunderstood classes. I can't count the times my fiance has screamed at the computer because people on his side were typing rude comments to their team instead of fighting. Mostly over healer classes. For one thing, in crowded situations it's hard to see what people outside your team need help, and in some cases you're taking points away from your team if you heal the other. The war priests, at least in the lower half, need to be in the middle of the fight hitting something to get powerful heals. The archmages have to keep a balance, getting powerful heals only if they've been doing more attacking, and powerful attacks only by using small heals.

But...until all of this becomes common knowledge, people will run around blaming classes they never tried to play for the team's defeat.

But we're only starting the first payment cycle now, so the game is still young. Not like the entire GW community understood every class right out the gate.

Scenarios are good.
Instanted PvP is good.

Only ORvR is meh because of bugs and lack of rewards.

Funny that a 3 year old game is better than an MMO (! because GW is not technically one) one month after release.

Don't remember WoW being as good at it's date of release at it is today... I think people complained about MASSIVE lags, bugs, few days of downtimes... And a lot more.

I love what you have said here. I play an Archmage, and in order to do my nice big heals, it takes me 3 seconds of casting to give that to you; yet, if I've done some dmg, it built up my Force, so my 3sec cast has turned into a 1sec cast, and yields a bigger heal. It's hard to find a nice balance between doing dmg to build up my Force, using up my Action points, or just giving everyone HealOverTime heals. Tho it is nice to actually dish out dmg at times, instead of staring at green bars all battle.
Haven't had many people scream at my lack of heals, so I guess I ain't doing too badly.

I still love the PvP in W:AR as opposed to GW. In GW, it was all gimmick builds, from the days of iWay, to whatever is the FoTM right now. Then Anet would give it a big nerf, everyone would QQ, and find the next gimmick build.
So I came into W:AR expecting to be a PvE carebear, but Scenarios and just random ganking of those flagged, I'm finding is so much fun. Next step for me is to do some more organised RvR - want to take me some Keeps Obviously not every-ones cup o' tea, but it suits my play style nicely. It's good to enjoy a game again!

ya there are some difficulties in finding out who needs to be healed in RvR but there are some good mods like Squared which display everyone in the Party or Warband and their health so you can just click/hover and heal without having to tab search for everyones health.

Everyone here come over to WarGuru.com, why another Forum when theres WHA?, cause you can support and foster another great community at WarGuru.com, or you can go to newbie land at the IGN Boards. There's always room for a Guru Community.
